CURRICULUM MODEL
Hi guys....Have you all guys have your lunch? Command guys don't take diet, its really harmful for our health. Take care of your health guys.
Today I would like to share my experiences that I gain from curriculum development class which title is curriculum model. There are four character who design curriculum model which are:
1.Bobbitt
In Bobbitt point of view objective determine as outlining what the students needs to know. Students need to achieve the objective by develop activities and complete the activities in order to learn . This mainly influenced by behaviorism. There are few guidelines that Bobbitt have given which is :
- Objectives should be practical
- Objectives should prepare students for adulthood
- Involve the community in developing objectives
- Sequence objectives by grade level
2. Charters
This curriculum model similar like Bobbitt. Selected by objective which more to social needs. After developing or selecting objective, Charters encourage to applied in classroom. This could determine as a groundwork for curriculum evaluation. Charters also advocated four steps of curriculum construction which are:
- Selecting objectives
- Dividing them into ideals and activities
- Analyzing them to the limits of working units
- Collecting methods of achievement
Bobbitt and Charters introduced the idea of objective that contain of goals, standards, learning outcomes, indicators and benchmarks. And they determine that students should learn this to led the concepts of experiential learning. They both the one one who first proponents of consulting the community in developing curriculum which carried out assessment to determine what the teacher teach.
3.Ralph Tyler
He approach his curriculum by:
- Determine the school’s purpose
- Identify educational experiences related to those purposes
- Ascertain how the experiences are organized
- Evaluate the purposes
4. Hilda taba
She have grassroots SEVEN major model the steps are:
1. Diagnosis of needs
The teacher (curriculum designer) identifies the needs of the students for the whom the curriculum is being planned.
2. Formulation of objectives
The teacher specifies objectives.
3. Selection of content
The objectives suggest the curriculum’s content. The objectives and content should match.
4. Organization of content
The teacher organizes the content into sequence, taking into consideration learner’s maturity, academic achievement and interests.
5. Selection of learning experiences
The teacher selects instructional methods that engage the students with the content.
6. Organization of learning activities
The teacher organizes the learning activities into a sequence, often determined by content. The teacher must be bear in mind the particular students who will be taught.
7. Evaluation and means of evaluation
The curriculum planner determines which objectives have been accomplished. Students and teachers must consider evaluation processes.
In my point of view, I suggest to follow Hilda's taba model in classroom because it is more detail and help the students. The steps are more interior and before she plan she identify what are needs of students . So this could be the best model for students and also it is structured.
Thank You.
